I love the new song by Chris Tomlin titled “I Will Follow”.  It has encouraged me greatly as Carina and I are about to embark on this new adventure to Kenya.

Where you go, I’ll go.
Where you stay, I’ll stay.
When you move, I’ll move.
I will follow.
All your ways are good.
All your ways are sure.
I will trust in you alone.
Higher than my sight.
High above my life, I will trust in you alone.

Where you go, I’ll go.
Where you stay, I’ll stay.
When you move, I’ll move.
I will follow you.
Whom you love, I’ll love.
How you serve, I’ll serve.
If this life I lose, I will follow you.
I will follow you.

I remember many years ago saying to the Lord, “If you open the door, I will walk through it. I will go where you lead.” I have seen God open many doors since then. Some were much easier to walk through than others. The one that opened to go to the Philippines 4 years ago was a door I walked through with anticipation and nervousness. Never having been to a developing country before, I did not know what to expect. Would my ultra sensitive body and system handle all the changes okay? Would I get sick? Would I be able to relate to the people? Would I know what to say? Would I be able to bring God’s Word to them in a way they would understand? What could I learn from them?

Now as I am about to walk through this open door to take the True Identity message to women in Kenya, I have some of the same questions and thoughts I had 4 years ago in going to the Philippines. But I also remember sharing with a group of young college students in a rustic mountainside chapel on the island of Mindanao. Looking out and seeing their bright smiles and eagerness to hear what I had to share. Their angelic voices as they sang praises, giving me a sense that I had been taken up to heaven for a short time. Their hugs and pleading for me to come back some day and spend more time with them. I was moved in a way I had never been. To know that I could travel half way across the world to a remote place and find the sweetest fellowship I had ever experienced. To be blessed and inspired by their pure and vibrant faith, fuels my excitement and anticipation to experience the same with my dear Christian sisters and brothers in Kenya.

As I read in Jeremiah this morning, I was reminded that for every door God opens, He walks through it with me.

“… for to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you declares the Lord”, “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.”  (verses 7-9)

I can honestly say that for every door that GOD has opened and I have walked through, I have discovered things and experienced things that were far beyond my hopes and expectations!

So yes, I will follow in trust and  anticipating of all God has waiting on the other side of this door.
